The Jack Purcell, named after the renowned 1930s badminton champion, was originally produced by B.F. Goodrich, now know as Goodrich. In 1972, Converse purchased the company’s rubber division and put its own stamp on the model by adding Jack Purcell’s name. It has remained virtually unchanged since the 1930s. The sneaker boasts an encapsulated toe piece, which adds durability and grip to an otherwise simple upper, a thick innersole and metal eyelets.
